Hello from Wisconsin!

Post by Dr_Mega »

Hi all. After 109,000 miles, many adventures and one too-slow eight-point buck I parted ways with my beloved Jeep Wrangler and traded her in on a 2009 Vibe this afternoon. After all the paperwork and related shenanigans I had just enough time to grab a cup of coffee with a friend and head to work for my 44-mile commute. So far, so good! The 2.4L has plenty of pep, even up the bluffs around Central Wisconsin. Comfort level was great, and I'm looking forward to putting the ample storage space to work. The one deer I saw tonight on the way home thankfully went on its way without jumping on the hood.I'm admittedly a little nervous about going from a manual 4WD to an auto AWD once the snow flies, but we shall see what that brings.Anyway, hello. Glad to see such an active group. Looking forward to bombarding you with dumb questions. = DM =

I have a 09 Vibe AWD & love it. The car sits low so you will hear the snow under you hitting the bottom at times but I have not had an issue of loosing control in my Vibe. Only time I had an issue was backing up in snow & i had to have some one push me out. So don't back up

Welcome, Neighbor! If you can swing it, I would recommend getting a set of steelies with snow tires. It will make a world of difference in the snow.

Welcome to GenVibe, Dr_Mega! Here's hoping the furry woodland creatures avoid your new car. My mother grew up in Two Rivers (pronounced 'Trivers' by the locals of course.)

Thanks for all the warm welcomes everyone. So far the Vibe's been treating me just fine on my commute. Nearly 26 mpg on the first fill-up, which is pretty decent considering how I drive to work. ;-)
