Improvised extended cargo area floor mat

Post by Vibe2.0 »

Ok so Vito, my Doberman, will be riding in the "way back" alot. Vito loves rides in the Vibe and he demands his quality appointments. I recently picked up the GM cargo mat which as most of you know covers the area that would be the "trunk" when the rear seats are upright. I needed a solution for the whole area when the seats are down and here is what I came up with. For $19 you can buy a pack of Golds gym exercise floor mats at Walmart. I used newspaper to make a template of the back of the rear seats area when folded down. I then used a utility knife to trim the floor mat material. If you are good with the knife you can get a very clean straight edge on this material. I am not so great with the utility knife so I chose to "seal" the edges with duct tape. I also covered all the seams on the back of the conjoined mats with duct tape. I am pleased enough for $19 and about 20 minutes. What do you think?

Ahh, you don't know what your missing. A simply fantastic dog. Great companion, very loving, and a good criminal deterrent.

If it's rubber, I will be doing this same thing to mine and my mom's! Looks great !
