2003 Vibe Power Lock Actuator Problems

Post by TS03Vibe »

I have a 2003 Vibe. The front and rear driver side power locks are not working. I can lock and unlock manually, but the power actuators are not working.New oem actuators are very expensive ($300 or more).I haven't had much success finding used actuators for my 2003 Vibe.A1 Electronic sells a universal MES Door Lock Actuator (2 wire-cable) that will work with cable actuated lock systems, like the Vibe. Has anyone tried a universal power actuator, like this one from A1 Electronic? At roughly $20, it is tempting to try it. Can I simply unplug the wires from old actuator, install this universal one, and then connect the the new actuator to the same 2 wires that powered the original oem actuator? Thanks for any help or advice on how to repair/replace the bad actuators.See universal actuator here: http://www.a1electric.com/Merc...=W15C
