How do I remove this to paint it?

I need to get this piece painted and I've seen vibes with t done, but I wanna know how difficult it is to remove before I attempt it.

just remember the GT is a 2ZZ which is a METAL intake... ours on a base is PLASTIC... if you want to venture into painting it you will have to make sure you select the proper paint for the application.. Example - high heat/ plastic compatible. I haven;t taken the intake off of mine but you will need a new gasket if its gasket but if its an O-ring style you may be able to reuse it if thats the case. all the best good luck... post picks when you complete the mission..

Well back on topic, the stock manifold for the vibe base is plastic? If so then I'm confused. A company would not make a manifold out of plastic, it's just pure nonsence to believe that they would. Also I have a 2zz swap, yet I kept all my base stuff such as my intake manifold, header, and so on. Does the plastic cover not simply come off?

There are many intake manifolds out there that are made out of plastic. The 3800 L36 being one of them.

I guess to paint t you'd simply have to pull the whole manifold out

It's still hard to believe that the entire manifold is completely made up of plastic.And knowing psycho, white, lol. I thought about painting my manifold white and leaving my engine cover black but then I remembered i'll be getting an aftermarket manifold once taxes come in so no point.Also djkeev, do you have any links or anything to give more info on the plastic manifold. I'm not saying you're wrong or lying, simply wanting to further my knowledge.

DAMN!!! I thought that was just a cover!!!! I saw somewhere on here about aftermarket headers for the base. I don't trust that plastic. Call me old fashioned, but I like metal.
