I read that people have been getting letters from GM (correct me if I am wrong) that says that they will replace the old All Weather mats #19170829 with the new and improved ones. Is there a new parts number for the new and improved mats. I tried to order the old ones from the dealer just to put the order in and then say they have been discontinued (probably due to the recall). Is there anyway to order the "fixed" version? Has anyone gone and had the old ones replaced or had received this recall letter? If so what is different about the replacements? Thanks,Phil
There was one guy who said his dealer had ordered the new driver's floor mat for him, but I don't think he has posted again since. Most '09-'10 owners were opting to avoid this latest recall since most said they didn't want their pedal and floor butchered.

Dealer placed ordered on 7-23-2010 I do not have a part number. I will call the dealer for an update. I just have not been in a big rush to get something that I am not going to use anyway, the weather mat I have now is not interfering with the petal and I like the design of the mat, from what I am hearing the new weather mat will probably be thinner in design.

Way to cheap out GM .I know you posted pictures of what they actually did to your GT a while back. Did they modify the floor at all or did they simply put that big piece of styrofoam under the carpet and hack up the pedal?I am trying to decide whether to have this recall done on mine and my mom's GTs or not .

I tried to get a part number but I was given the part number for the discontinued front mats, called another dealer same thing. When I was at my dealership the Parts dept. said service manager had the information and the service dept. said the parts dept. would have the information, anyway is seems that neither dept. had any real information. The old part # for the front all weather mats is #22745618 the rear cargo mat is #19170829. If and when the replacement front mats come in I will pass on the info.Quote, originally posted by J_TO_ENVY »I know you posted pictures of what they actually did to your GT a while back. I didn't want them cutting or hammering on the floor pan, but since they're just replacing what's already there I am thinking I will go ahead and get it done, although I am going to see if I can get them to agree to just go ahead and install a whole new pedal rather than butcher the current one.

The thing that bothers me with the petal recall is that is a cheesy fix and GM and or Toyota should probably compensate me for the damage (fix) done to the petal.
That is why I am not getting the damn recall done, they are not compensating me for a partial floor pedal. I paid for a full intact gas pedal, not 80% of one. On a side note for the new updated weather floor mats, to be honest. The best floor mat out there are the Husky and WeatherTech Floor Liners. They cover more area and provide better covered. On top of that, they are easier to clean. Another benefit is they extend far enough up in the driver's side foot well (floor) that there is no way the pedal could possibility get stuck against the mat causing you to lose control of the vehicle. Hence, do not have to have the recall done.

I just didn't want anyone getting confused on what part numbers were for what part.I am only getting the recall done if the dealer agrees to install a whole new pedal rather than just butcher the current one. If they do agree to this, I will be marking the current pedal somewhere so I can make 100% sure they do indeed install a new pedal and that they don't just butcher the current one and than try to lie about it.I personally prefer the GM mats because they have the Vibe and arrowhead logos and thus are much nicer looking than the Weather Tech, etc. ones in my opinion. They are also very easy to clean in my opinion. Pull them out, spray them off with the hose, scrub them with some Wesley's Bleache White, let them dry and re-install them. They do a great job of catching everything too. I hardly have to even vacuum the carpet because everything stays on the floor mats. To each their own though .

Yes there are other forums about the recalls and the chopped floor pedals and everybody's personal opinion about which mats are their favorites. I started this one because I want to know if anybody has gotten the "new" mats and I need the part number if it has changed. Or if their is any place I can still buy the originals. I have already chosen which mats I want and I have tried to order them only to say they are not sold anymore. Thanks for every ones responses

Thanks for every ones responsesWell, as he's already stated, trask has the new floor mat on order from his dealer, but has yet to receive it and hasn't been able to get a part number for the new driver's side mat. To my knowledge no other member on here has actually received the new driver's floor mat yet.My only suggestion is to email GM Parts Direct (customerservice@gmpartsdirect.com) and ask them if they have #19170829 in stock. When you email them, be sure to include your VIN so they can verify the floor mats will work with your specific car (they are sticklers about getting a VIN to verify parts). Otherwise, you can search through these links that come up on Google. I searched eBay as well and didn't find anything there. Beyond those tips, I don't know what else to tell you.
