Easy Security fix

Post by averettsm »

Just thought I would share a quick fix for security------> I don't know about everyone else, but there have been some car thefts in my area recently. so of course I wanted something to make my vibe a bit more secure without spending a ton of money. Heres what I did:Splice a small toggle switch into the Clutch Start cancel plunger at the bottom of the clutch pedal throw. Youll see 2 wires: red and black. I chose the black one but either one is fine. mount the switch somewhere thats hidden to the eye but easily accessible to you by touch. (I put mine next to the OBD II connector). Now your car will not be able to start without the switch in the right position. Once you have it in the right position just start your car normally. Its also a good idea to get a small guarded switch to prevent accidental activation. Another small detail: I used a switch rated up to 125v @ 5A, you might want to bump that up to to 10A since cars only make 12V.

now the whole world knows how to start your car.and where you are. perhaps move the switch and dont tell us or perhaps you told us the location of the ejector seat switch instead of the start switch.
