First off, how the HECK are they going to clean the evaporator?!?! It's buried in the dash along with the heater core! To get to it involves hours upon hours of work. There is a cabin air filter, behind the glove box, you can do it yourself. There is an inline AC filter for the freon that only needs to be replaced IF you've had a compressor failure or a receiver/dryer failure or you have any reason to discharge the AC system for a repair. There is no reason to replace it periodically. It is a sealed oxygen free environment and the odds of corrosion or dirt being in it are quite slim. The oil in the AC? You've got oil in the ac already. IT will NOT operate without oil mixed in with the freon. Again, if the system is discharged for a part replacement by all means add oil before/as you recharge but it isn't like engine oil that needs replacement every 10,000 miles. The cooling gas, R134a, doesn't wear out and never needs replacement due to use. It can leak out and need a recharge but most often if that happens, you need to locate and repair the leak.Injector cleaners, well you can do this yourself with an over the shelf additive to the fuel. BUT IF you are purchasing quality gasolines (and you are SMART to be doing so), name brand such as Shell or similar you are already getting detergents to keep your injectors clean with every gallon you purchase. If you are buying cheap off name brand gas, I'd add some cleaners every couple of tankfuls but their service being offered is largely snake oil in my opinion.Politely say NO to their offer. It's sad that a car dealer is taking advantage of those poor souls who know little about a car, especially the elderly who are on a tight budget!!Dave

Good grief yes, they are trying to gig you. Both of these services are totally not necessary. How much did they charge for the 30K maintenance? I think I would avoid this dealer altogether.

I like to change coolant earlier as I think it is cheap insurance.I have been brainwashed to always use high quality gasoline. The extra cost is minimal.I consider tire rotations important. Also need to keep on top of brake pad wear. After 5 years replace belts. Beyond that, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.A lot of the dealer service is inspect this and inspect that.Just my 2 cents.
