Blown Speaker, Now What???

Post by Whalensdad »

I have a 2004 M&T with the front left speaker blown. I believe the speakers are 2 ohm, so that is what I have been looking for, but have had very little success. What are my options? Can I use a 4 ohm speaker? Will I have to replace all of my speakers? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I will have the whole set from my '06 M&T set-up, waiting on my box to be made and have everything installed first though. Could be a month or two due to the box being part of a group-buy with a new company.

Yes you can use a 4ohm speaker & no you dont have to replace all of them. I replaced my front speakers with Polks that are 4 ohms with zero problems. I have a 2003 with Moon & Tunes and just replacing the fronts with the Polks sound fantastic!

Thanks. I ended up replacing the fronts with some Kenwoods I had laying about and they sound great.

Glad it worked out for you. I was just sitting in my car & noticed the rear right speaker sounds distorted....time to replace the rear speakers now!
