Glove box door --- part fell off

I was removing my glovebox door on my '05 vibe, unscrewed the rod from the right, lowered the door and removed it and then, the rod and cylinder fell out ... obviously I can see where it attaches to the glove box, but have absolutely no idea where it mounts under the dash. The cylinder has two holes that look like they sit on two posts, but I can;t find it anywhere ... any ideas???? Thanks

Hello fellow New Yorker,Mine just sits on one plastic peg, using the hole nearest the moveable end, and there is a plastic peg that it hooks on in just a little bit near the molded opening where the cylinder extends. Hope it did not break off on you.Dale
