My 2009 1.8 liter put on a few lights today. I always try to get EXTRA gas in my tank so I can go further just incase! My dad's Chrysler Concorde has given him grief from overfilling but I thought it was just nature of that beast. Well, the codes were the P043 E and F and P 2401 and 2402 and P2419. Google helped me find that it's likely from overfilling and now it sounds like I need to replace my Charcoal Canister. I'm wondering if there's any hope of it drying out if I make sure not to overfill it again. I'm @ 73000km so just off warranty unless there's some way to qualify for the Saskatchewan Emissions warranty. So... if it has to be replaced... anyone got instructions?
I have seen this happen to other cars as well. I never had any luck drying the cannister out. A friend's Corolla did that, [ he filled every tank to the top ] & I told him what was wrong with it. He went to a junkyard & they sold him everything, cannister & all related parts, for $40.
