Blew the trans

Post by Sublimewind »

Coming out of a car show... Wasn't even on it.. no boost... It had been acting up on me all weekend, not wanting to come out of, or go into gear... 2hr... 400$ ride home on a flatbed.. Trophy the day before at the Kosminiski Charity Car Show (top 15)

That sucks. I hope it isn't too expensive for you. I'm guessing $3,500-5,000.

Sorry - details escape me. Make/model,year, mileage? Assume AT . Expected due to age/miles. Unexpected?

Thanks everyone..It's starting to look like the car is going to sit till something good happens... I've been unemployed for 1.5yr now.. I'm hoping to re-build, but with my budget, I can afford to watch the fluid drain.. @Raffe 3-5 would get me a 6spd STi trans I so desperately want.. @Jake 2000 Subaru Impreza RS with 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX drivetrain.. 5MT (Auto? Come on mister)Expected due to doubling+ of factory power + stg2 aftermarket clutch and light flywheel, had issues with getting out of and into gears, fluid full.. @AKLGT doubt anything is going to happen... (:::::: This comes less than a month before HIN/NOPI in Chicago (which I was going to dominate) I'm sunk.. I just got a partial sponsorship offer from Rotora Brakes too, no money to purchase, even on discount.. (Thanks everyone..

awe I'm sorry. but the car's not a priority for you right now (or shouldn't be). get yourself gainfully employed and money saved up before dumping more into it. I think I can say from plenty of experience that modding cars is a giant money suck. fulfilling for those of us who do it as a hobby, but definitely make you hood rich.
