Replacing Rear Diff

Assuming I can find a used one, anyone ever replaced their Rear Diff. If so, got any tips? Secondly, has anyone ever converted a AWD to a FWD. I toyed with this idea but the ABS sensor reads off the cv shaft. And it seams the the wheel bearing could come apart without the half shaft in place. Any other thoughts about side affects from not running the AWD. I've got 150k miles. A new $3k tranny, a grinding rear diff, leaking transfer case. thanks,Ryan

You live in the land of auto recyclers... you can't find a rear diff.. lol.. If ONLY I LIVED IN CALI...!
