I just dropped in the ACT TC2-HDSS clutch kit. I like it a lot so far. Much better bite than stock. I got it for $380 off a different site. There's info here on how to do it yourself, but I have to warn that the first time through the job is a bit of a beast. I could probably do it much faster now having learned the tricks and gotten a feel for the parts and where they go, but knowing I will probably never do it on this car again, I would think twice about rejecting the shop's offer to do the labor for $500.

Man the last clutch job i paid for was on a honda prelude sh $1400!!! Id say 500 is a pretty reasonable offer. Is it true that a performance clutch will wear out faster than a stock one?

Someone else will have to answer that. This is my first time replacing a clutch due to wear on any vehicle. I can't imagine the performance clutches having a shorter life than the stock clutch on the GT, especially if you ever loan it out to friends who aren't familiar with it And yeah, having gone through the experience I would say to anyone if you can afford it, have a shop you trust do it.
