A/C issue

Post by ThatRobynGirl »

Hi Everyone. I'm new to this forum and really just wanted your opinions first before I take my Vibe to a shop just to have them overcharge me for work that doesn't need to be done (it's happened more than I'd like to admit). I have a 2004 Vibe, and this past Saturday the air conditioner just stopped working...no air would blow out at all. Then a few days later, I tried to turn it on again, and I heard the compressor engage, but when I did it, the RPMs went real low and it was making a weird sound from the passenger side. I've been reading on here about recharging, but that doesn't sound like what my problem may be. Does anyone have any ideas on what this problem might be? I appreciate your help!Robyn

Welcome to GenVibe!!! There are a few threads here about people who replaced the compressor, like this one: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=41854I'd call around and see what various shops are charging compared to the dealer!Good luck!!!
