Well, at least I have conclusive proof of the fact I'm right with my wife's Matrix. About a month ago, the CEL came on and it started intermittently shifting harshly. It has gotten more consistent as it's gone along. Based on the code it threw and the behaviour, it was acting like a failing circuit but our dealer was balking. Now they have no choice.
A year and four months too late for me. I didn't want to pay for what I knew was a bad ecm. Mine went bad around 80k miles. I wonder will they refund the folks who paid to have them replaced after the warranty was up?

We had it replaced on my son's Vibe over a year ago due to the car dying several times and it finally would not restart. It was still under the B2B warranty, but I believe the ECM is also covered under the emissions warranty that is like 5 yrs and 80K miles. I'll check on it in the manual at lunch.
