Hello everyone. Im looking to replace the stock stereo in my 2004 Vibe. Right now I have the stock stereo with 6 speakers and amp. Im looking for any suggestions on a stereo that is not too expensive, but can be swapped very easily with the stock stereo receiver. The only other thing I would really like it to have is a USB and or auxiliary input on the front. I would like a quality stereo, but cant be too picky because of my budget, which is around $200. Ive installed stereos in cars before, but never one with an amp. I just want it to be an easy and smooth as possible install. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
I believe you can find a 2din size aftermarket stereo unit for under $200. All you will need is an adapter harness plug and an antenna adapter plug for maybe $20 or so. Everthing else stays the same. IF you go with a 1din size you have many more option that will work for under $200 if all you want is a new stereo head unit with USB and AUX.This option will also require a new mounting adaptor.

Be sure to check out http://sonicelectronix.com and/or http://crutchfield.comYou can check to see what fits your vehicle there and they give you free wiring harness and free antenna adapter.I got mine from there and only paid $299 for a h?u that retailed for $500I love mine. Oh, shipping is free also
Thanks for the two sets. Does the wiring harness that they provide allow a simple plug in connection with the current wiring in my car or will I have to still crimp wires together. Last time I installed a radio was probably 10 years 8 years ago and it was on a car made in the early 90s that had no harness. I just had to twist the wires together that went to the appropriate speaker. I never installed a radio with an amp before and dont know what the wiring harness does.
Hi folks. I finally got my new stereo. I stuck with a single din receiver from crutchfield. I got it yesterday and had it installed within 30 min. It was so easy with the harness they sent. I do have a question though that I hope someone can answer. There is one harness that connects to the new deck, but the stock stereo had to connection harnesses. The stereo works with the one connection, but I would like to know what the other connection is for. Can anyone answer what that's for?
What model stereo did you get? Can we expect pics in your garage? And I'm really not sure abot the two wire harnesses on your stock radio. That ? is for someone else
I ended up getting a Kingwood KDC- HD545U. I can't post any pics cause my camera is not working, but the install us nothing special. The stereo on the other hand works great and I'm very happy with my decision.
I watched the video review. The iPod control looks pretty fluid. Nice easy controls. There are more steps to it on mine, which sucks! You get the remote with it?
