Check Eng. Light. Found P0037 code

Post by tinkerptw »

2007 Vibe new from dealer 18 Oct 07. Very satisfied. Now at 60K miles. 3 days ago Ck light came on. Code read P0037. Erased and later made another drive. All OK. Next day afternoon a short drive and Ck light came on. Erased and later made another drive. All OK. Today made a drive and all OK. Later today made another drive with the Fan in the OFF position. Ck light came on. Completed my errand and erased. Turned the Fan on and closed the windows for A/C comfort. All OK. Then recalled that each time the Ck light came on was a time that I had the windows down and Fan in the OFF position and the outdoor temp. was over 100F. (I like to feel the breeze when driving alone).

P0037 tends to indicate the second O2 sensor. Are you still under warranty?

Today, 23 Aug (Ck light and P0037 reappeared yesterday) Took Vibe to GM dealer again and they found the PK/BK terminal into the PCM had an intermittant open in that ground wire. They replaced the PCM in warr. and everything is now okay.

Today, 1 Sep 2010, our Vibe has behaved very good since the PCM was replaced. Seems to have a more even accerator pedal and fuel milage improved from about 29 mpg to about 31 mpg. Noticed the info under the heading "recall 2005-2008 Corollas and Matrixes. The part no. on our in warr. PCM is 19205290.
