I'm posting this because I just want to make sure there are no unseen problems I may be having.I just replaced the battery in my 2006 Vibe. When I first cranked it up after the change, the engine was idling rough, and I mean ROUGH! After driving for a while, the rough idle smoothed out. I've replaced many a battery in many a vehicle in my years, and never had this particular problem. Does anyone know if this is an indicator of another problem?Since that time, the car has experienced no other signs of rough idle. No idiot lights ever came on. The car is still running perfect after a couple hundred miles with the new battery. Please let me know if anyone else has had the same issue and if it led to further problems. Thanks.
...when the original battery was disconnected, ALL voltage was lost until the new battery was installed, and during that time the computer "forgot" all of its "learned" driver/driving memory....the short period of engine "roughness" was simply the computer "re-learning" your driving characteristics...happens everytime the battery is disconnected (but, TOYOTA has a service bulletin on how to not have this happen).

That's odd. I just had my battery out of my 2003 Vibe base for over a week while doing my transmission swap and did not have this problem when I put everything back together.
Ditto - never experienced any issue when I changed the battery in my 2003 a couple years ago.
