2009 Pontiac GT floor mat holes

Post by pgastwirth »

Hi Everyone,I just purchased a GM Certified used 2009 Pontiac GT. I want to get the GM all weather mats but I have found out that they have discontinued them because of the issue of them getting stuck under the accelerator pedal. It is really annoying that they have just discontinued them as I could just move the drivers side to the trunk.Any way my car was missing a couple pieces like the rear divider for the center console cup holders and a drivers seat track cover. I have ordered those parts.I noticed in this picture http://carphotos.cardomain.com...e.jpgthat there are little clips that hold the mat on the drivers side. Do those clips come with the mats or are they already built in to the cars carpet? I only have holes in the carpet where they would go. I am wondering if I need to try to find these clips before buying these GM all weather mats. (I am going to try to find them from somewhere else other than GM)Thanks so much for your help.

They should already be there.. I don't have all weather floor mats.. but.. I don't imagine that they will come with the hooks.. sounds like yours are missing!

For my 2009 I got a set of heavy duty rubber mats at Sam's for $19.99. You can trim them to fit - including trimming the top part so they are no way near the gas pedal. They are so heavy that they do not move.Mine are gray - they also come in black or brown I believe.

I know they are expensive but I really like the fitted "vibe" gm mats. Do you have any pictures of them in the car?

I think I found my answer. I have found that sometimes it is easier doing a search for 2009 Matrix than 2009 Vibe GTIf anybody is wondering, here is the article that explains the Toyota floor mat recall. I wish they would fix this already. http://blogs.cars.com/kickingt....htmlCan anybody confirm that those mats came with the hooks though?

The hooks are installed in the carpet/floor of the vehicle. They do not come with the all weather floor mats. If you don't have hooks, they are missing and you will have to order them through GM and make sure they are installed properly (I would seriously recommend having a GM dealer install them). Here is a picture of what the hooks look like:Try searching around online for the GM all weather floor mats. The part number is: #19170829. Just enter the part number on Google and there should be a number of sites that come up that sell GM parts. I couldn't be happier with the GM all weather mats. They look and fit great. Well worth the pretty hefty price tag in my opinion.

Thank you for taking the time answering and posting a picture. Just what I needed to hear. I tried ordering the mats from the dealer when I ordered the cargo mat and cargo security shade but they came back as discontinued because if the recall. I'm guessing that those hooks are part of the problem from the article I posted above. I will try to get GM to install them. Thanks again.

I've been searching through the vibe and matrix online parts catalog and haven't found anything for those floor mat retaining hooks. If anybody knows anything about these PLEASE SHAREI did find on this forum that those gm all weather floor mat would be replaced with the new "FIXED"one for the recall. Anyone get the new one yet? (Post a picture) Wish they would start selling those so I can purchase them.

TRDSparks has the floor mat clips for $.79 each! You may want to call and confirm these are indeed what you're looking for, but it seems to me they are.

You're welcome ! I was actually looking for something else on there when I came across the floor mat clips and just had to post the link. $.79 is a great deal for sure!

i KNEW i could trust this site and you guys for this part's number.the local GM dealer has them (a "kit") for $21.57. the local Toyota dealer has them for 10 cents apiece. the Toyo parts guy just handed me two of them (i only needed one) and said "have a nice day!" i guess he realized that it would cost more than 20 cents to ring up the merchandise.

I ordered the Matrix rubber mats and they came with the clips. It appears that GM pulled the clips from their "certified" cars.
