WELL.. duct tape would have been ghetto.. But you can't see them.. its under the bumper.. so its all good.. Didn't want to have to pay for a plastic round clip when a zip tie does the same thing!
After finishing the install of the rear splashguards yesterday morning (fronts were installed on Tuesday/Wednesday?), and taking pictures of a dirty car, I washed and detailed him out this morning. He's lookin' pretty good now, even if I do say so myself. Too bad I can't preserve that look permanently. The bugs and road tar have been terrible this year. I musta' spent at least an hour just cleaning up that mess before the bath and rub-down.

chased and blocked a bunch of loser teenagers with my Vibe after they road through the neighborhood ransacking garbage cans with the front of their vehicles. Too bad their airbags didn't deploy when they continued to make contact with their front bumpers. Now all I need is a red light on the roof and a siren for my Vibe.

Stared at it in the parking lot at work, wondering why it looked so dirty. Then, realized the lawn crew had come by and sprayed it with grass, dirt and dust.::FACEPALM::
We have these people that come EVERY night at work and leaf blower the garbage down the aisle then sweep it up with their truck Dust covers my carI have to go out and dust it off because it shows when the cars been waxed.I feel your pain bro
replaced a brake caliper D:... needing to replace the transmission very soon too...Since the sticky caliper thing is fixed, I treated it to a wash. It was just the automatic wash though. And it definitely wasn't no-touch All this work just before I plan on selling it too..

Hey all. I've been watching the forums for quite sometime and I finally decided to make a name and get some post in, and what better place to start than here? Today I cleaned my vibe after a long day at a mud bog (not on my doing, I hate mudding due to the lack of intelligence required in spending that much money on a truck 20 years old) but it was covered in lame writing along with general dirt so gave it a cleaning. Looking to get into some d.i.y here within a couple of weeks. But anyways hey all.

Took the vibe out today on a 1/4 mile backroad some trucks use to load up behind a factory. It felt so good to have an enjoyable run. I love how vibes feel like they're riding on rails. Also I'm getting ready for the track this weekend. I'll be getting some stats like top speed, acceleration, so on.

Yesterday I went to the local Toyota dealer to double check that the '09-'10 Matrix cabin air filter is indeed the same size as the '09-'10 Vibe cabin air filter. It is exactly the same size, so I bought one for $24.57 including tax. Chatted for quite a while with the parts guy about how much cheaper Toyota parts are over GM parts. He thought it was great that I had a "GM" and was buying Toyota parts. He even told a couple other dealer employees, "She's got a Pontiac Vibe and she's buying parts here!" . Came home and replaced the cabin air filter in my mom's Vibe. This is the first time replacing it with 15,000 on the odometer. It was dirty, but not too bad since I had routinely used the air compressor to blow it out.I then went to TRDSparks.com and ordered a 10 pack of Toyota oil filters (should last us a year ), 2 drain plug gaskets (a whopping $.85 a piece !) and a cabin air filter (slightly cheaper then the dealer since I was ordering the other stuff). Grand total was $66.51. Not bad at all. I also decided when money allows, I will be ordering DDM Tuning 35w 4500k HIDs for the fog lights and low beams on both Vibes .Today I have to change the oil, check all the fluids, tire pressure, etc. on both Vibes. After that I am going to detail my mom's. Mine will be detailed hopefully tomorrow after work.Busy weekend for me and the Vibes!

Tinted my headlights today but went way to dark and WAY WAY WAY below the legal limit so pics won't be up until wet sanding and buffing is complete for the final professional look. Here's a pic

I'm leaving the fogs the way they are. I did some modding today on the headlights and sanded a clear circle in the middle to allow light through, I'll have pics up later after I redo the sanded part for a nicer look. Expect pics tomorrow

Took some time today to repaint the silver/pewter dash trim. It had so many scratches when I bought it & has been bugging me since day one. What the heck do people do with thier cars anyway??? Doing it in parts, so I started with the 115V outlet trim piece. If anyone is interested in repainting to the factory color, Duplicolor Perfect Match BGM0490 Pewter Metallic comes very close to the stock trim color. Bought it at advance Auto.

I completely removed the tint from my headlights using 320grit sandpaper...OUCH!!!!Not to worry tho...I know what I'm doinI ate ALL the way thru the outer layer of plastic and made SURE I got it all. Then I hit it with 800grit. Then wetsanded with 800grit.Last but not least, I sanded with 2000grit. Then wetsanded with 2000grit.Oh, then I buffed it with rubbing compound and waxed it twice. They look better than they did 4yrs ago when I BOUGHT the damn thang! lolPics and a "how to" soon
OH! and I'm ALSO taking out everything I painted on the dash and wetsanding it with 2000grit and buffing it.It's turning out REAL nice! Glassy finish actually. Looks amazing. Bassrocker...you GOTTA try this
