Hello all, I have joined this forum because I just bought my beautiful girlfriend a 2006 Vibe after only about a week of looking. She needed a newer car with power steering, brakes and auto transmission because she has MS and was having trouble shifting the '91 Tercel she bought new! After looking at the Matrix I ran across the Vibe and within a few days we decided it was the same car for less money and better looks (she thought the Matrix front end looked like a truck). It took a few days to locate a well-kept 1 owner from a longtime Jimmy, Buick, Pontiac dealer in Hermiston, OR. A friend took me there (300 miles in 1 day) where I bought the car ($6600 with 85K miles) and 2 new tires (love that NO sales tax in OR). Drove it back the next day and got 36 mpg. It's white with moon and tunes, roof rack, 6 cd player and clean body and interior. It doesn't have power doors or windows and no CC but from reading here that will be a $35 fix - ordered the switch already! This a great forum - you helped me learn enough about the Vibe to decide to buy it and I'm sure you will be a big help in maintaining and upgrading her new Vibe. She's quite enamored already with the car! Now if I can just figure out why the engine check light came on on the trip home......it has a new cat on it, maybe a loose gas cap? Whoops, this should have been posted in the Vibe Lounge.....would one of the mods please move it? Thanx
