Have an idea... need some opinions.

Post by smeadows7 »

Hey all, I'm still fairly new to genvibe but just wanted to say thanks to you all for being so helpful. Anyway, I'm starting to get the itch for spring mods (already). One thing I want to do is paint my rear bumper. I made a little mock up of what it might look like and just wanted to see what ya'll thought.Thanks.

It will look good. A couple of other members have done the same thing.

With your color Vibe and those taillights the back bumper looks awesome! Did you tint your tail lights or was that done on the computer too?

Ah, very nice looking, I always thought the silver Vibes did the debadged look the best... I really think the black bumper looks good... are you thinking matte or shinny black? What did you get done to the front bumper, I've never seen that before. One thing I must say though is your signature is a bit big for the site... Lookin' pretty Goth! I worry about those darker tails. I got nudged on a sunny day... even while tapping the breaks to try to let the driver behind me notice that I was stopping at a stop sign. I don't think Vibe lighting in the rear is grabbing much attention... and darker tails will do little to help out. I've noticed quite a few crushed rear end Vibe stories on this site.

It should be a little less overwhelming now haha.I'm thinking probably glossy but not too shiny.I'm not sure what you mean about the front?Quote, originally posted by vibolista »Lookin' pretty Goth! Yeah I hadn't intended to go that dark originally but I guess I got carried away haha. Plus the can I got was dysfunctional so it made it hard to do nice thin coats. You're right though, in the day they're hard to notice sometimes.

At night too, I'd be willing to bet.Just Friday morning (I work very early) I came upon a Charger with very blacked out tails. For a while I couldn't tell what that glow was ahead of me.Please, for your own sake and the sake of other drivers, and pedestrians please remove that tint. It's WAYYY too dark and way too dangerous.BTW: I do like how the bumper would look that way.'Look familiar? (My car)

06vibe, I appreciate your concern You will be happy to know that after months of exposure to the sun the tails have faded out a little bit. They look better now. By the way... is that your 3? Is it the turbocharged mazdaspeed?I love those things!

No Mazdaspeed3 until '07, and then they had some initial problems with 'em.At @ a conservative $4000-$5000 for a turbo kit, engine upgrades, a stand alone ECU and tuning, I don't think I'll be doing it anytime soon either. Just not worth it.Here's a newer one.... OK, two, taken just today as a matter of fact.Or you can go to: http://s94.photobucket.com/alb...rgin1/ and get the full story. Keep in mind that the pics load in reverse order though.
