We have an '05 Vibe that we bought from a used car dealer about 3 years ago. We only got the one key and fob for the doors/hatch. The other day I thought I'd just stick the key in the outside drivers lock and try that trick that some of the fancier cars can do where the windows will roll down (or up). Of course it didn't do anything, but what worried me was the fact that they key would not unlock the door! I could turn it one direction and I could hear the locks engaging, but I couldn't unlock the doors. I tried flipping the key and I tried the passenger door and the hatch. The key wouldn't work on any them!I'm a little worried that my wife might get locked out of her Vibe somewhere if they battery should suddenly fail or the fob gets broken. How do I get a replacement key cut from one that's already worn out? Are there still any Pontiac dealerships open or should I just go to a GM dealer or to the Toyota place?
mine is a base model, and my key won't unlock the passenger door. Only evrything else I got a copy made from wal-mart (cost me $2) and it works all the way around. Not sure why, but it doesSeems worth a shot if it's only $2....but mine doesn't have a chip or anything, not sure about yours
When I bought my Vibe I only had one key as well. Made a copy at walmart. If you put the key in the driver side door, you should be able to unlock that door....if you turn it again it will unlock the others. If your key is already worn I dont know how well a copy will work. I guess you can try. I bought a key fob for really cheap with great instructions on how to promgram it too. Search for key fob & you will probably find the site that I bought mine from.

I don't remember what I cost me but I don't recall it being all that much.
