Here's the progress so far. Will be fiber glassing over the spare tire section and attaching to the floor. Before: Board cut out:Attached board to the factory hinges:Tomorrow I hope to cut out a hole to mount the sub in, and will post more pictures along the way.

Will wait to see how much room I have, but could end up being sunken into the fake floor too. I might be taking out the black plastic piece covering the spare tire, and seeing what kind of space I have to work with.If I take the black cover out, I should be able to move the spare over to the left some more, which should open up more space on the right to have the amp.

IMO that would probably be your best bet, That tray takes up alot of valuable real estate that could be used for audio BTW nice color choice on the vibe!

Ya, I think I need to take it off. My neighbor works at the place that makes it, so i figured i would try it out. I guess I should just find an 8 or 10 inch grill to protect it

You could just make your own. When I did my first false floor in the vibe I made a mdf ring, cut a cirlce out of 1/4" abs plastic, drilled a lot of holes in the new make shift grill. Worked like a charm.

It actually sounds relaly good, better than i thought it would for just an 8". It's being powered by an alpine 500 watt mono sub amp, and ran a bass control remote from the front, so i can turn it down a bit when the gf's in the car, haha
