Thanks in advance to anyone with any suggestions.I believe I am having ignition problems with my 2007 pontiac vibe. When I place the car in park, turn the engine off, remove the key from the ignition, and THEN open the driver side door, the car gives me the warning alarm indicating the key is still in the ignition. I thought I could deal with this for a few days until I realized that also some of the front and rear lights on my car remained lit as well. After a look through my 'handy' owners manual, I pulled the 'tail' fuse on the interior fuse box. This controls the front parking lamps, taillamps, license plate lamps, instrument panel lights, and the engine control system. Now for the questions. 1. does anyone know what this problem sounds like? 2. (and this might be a stupid one) Considering that the 'tail' fuse has silenced the alarm and turned off the offending lights, is it possible to drive with it pulled? Granted, the smokeys may not like my lack of license plate lamp, but what is meant by an 'engine control system' (which sounds a little more necessary) and which tailllamps does the 'tail' fuse control? Break lights? Like I said, this may be a stupid one, but getting on my back to pull and insert a fuse every time I drive that car (and for the next 5 days, until I can get into the dealership) sounds like a major pain in the rear. Thanks again-Jen
Update- Apparently the warning sound the Vibe makes when the key is left in the ignition is the same sound made when the parking lights are left on. The award for stupid girl with Pontiac Vibe goes to me for at least the next month. It took a trip to the dealership to tell me that.Jen
