Well, I picked up my latest toy last night - a Barnes & Noble Nook with WiFi + 3G.I thought it would be a good thing to pack for our upcoming trip to India (end of July). So far, I'm really pleased with it, although I wish it had more periodical content than it currently does (admittedly, Kindle Store has way more newspapers and magazines).Anyone else out there have a nook? A Kindle? An ebook reader? Even read things other than forums?

...uh, how do you "dog ear" a page so you know where you left off reading (wink,wink)?...actually, my wife ("the reader") has one and loves it...I however, don't.

It just didn't carry the books I read, ie not best sellers... it was a cool thing to have around and easy on the eyes.Quote, originally posted by Old Tele man »...uh, how do you "dog ear" a page so you know where you left off reading (wink, wink)? You actually can.

We have a Sony Ebook reader. I love it. Its actually my hubby's that I gave him last year for his birthday but we both use it. What amazes me is the paper like quality of the screen! No glare. Love it.

I have the B&N reader on my iPad. I like the Nook a bit better as a dedicated reader, not having the harsh backlight and all, but since I had the iPad already this will suffice. I was surprised that it's not a tough transition from paper to electronic and while I still own a ton of paper books, this allows some of the more expensive ones to remain pristine while my more durable iPad takes the abuse of being hauled everywhere.

Since I also wanted a dedicated reader, I thought iPad battery life would be a comparative killer.I am, however, extremely jealous that you roll with the iPad.@Kelly - I believe you'll find they have much more in terms of best sellers and new books than they did even just a few years ago.

I only "roll with the iPad" thanks to a very generous boss. We've determined they're very useful productivity tools and since we have them, we're allowed to load them up with whatever we want so long as we pay for it (or the company will if it's productivity related).
