Here are some pics of what could be something missing. The 2008 had the front end replaced by a 5-star body shop.Boy did I find lots of stuff missing or installed sloppy. This is 1 of the 2 threaded holes in the cross brace in front of the radiator.Looks like something should be attached using these 2 holes. This is towards the head light. Just a hole plus a matching one on the other side. This is on the trailing edge of the fender before the tire. It has a metal strap thingy with 2 threaded holes.

If there was something there you should see a circular mark where the bolt was seated against the crossmember and possibly a mark of the outline of whatever was attached. If the threaded hole is rust free then there was probably a bolt there. If the threaded hole's rusted up then nothing was used in that space. Was that crossbrace repainted?

Aghhh!! Don't get me started on Auto Repair "professionals"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Go to you local used car lot, maybe even your old Pontiac dealer and explain your situation and ask if they would mind if you looked at a Vibe they had on the lot just to compare with.In the interest of future customer goodwill I cannot imagine a dealer saying no to such a request. I guess the possibility exists that you will steal some parts and that would be the only trip up.Dave
Hi, I just snapped a bunch of photos of my 07, never been wrecked, essentially the same car as yours.Yes, you are missing some parts underneath.Send me you email address and I'll send you about 10 photos of my engine bay and under carriage.Davedkeevil@verizon.net
some holes may just be for access - but good to have someone with an unmolested model to compare!

first two pics look fine to me IMO, third pic im not sure. if you look at the first wave blue vibe pic you can see that there are two threaded holes (one on each side of the sticker/decal) that are apparently used for nothingmust paint engine cover...
