Can't speak for the AWD, but on my GT yes it is totally worth it! There is a difference in performance, and the sound. Oh my goodness, the sound!!

I also have a GT and it is well worth it! The sound is intoxicating. I took a ride in silverawd26's AWD Vibe with the CAI and it sounded pretty good. I couldn't tell you how much it increased anything else because I am used to my GT, but it wasn't bad.Nick got to take a ride with me in my GT and feel lift with the CAI. He was pretty impressed. I think it helped him make his decision to get one for his Vibe.

Well its well worth it. At idle it has a hissing sound, and when you hit 3500 and higher it sounds as if your car wants to swallow the road, as if a wild beast was unleashed. One of my buddies compared it to the sound the Acura Integra GSR produces.

I have it on a base vibe -- definitely find my power has improved...and my initial pickup from a light...kicks (removed)!
