Thanks everybody! When they said she was a "big one" I was thinking 'whaaat?!' and they said 8 lbs., 3.6 oz/ 20.3/4 long". I was like "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?! WHAAAAAAAAAAT?!" I was in disbelief that my 75% Japanese baby could be such a sumotori-sized tank. But then again, she had an extra week of cookin'. The way the little pirahna eats, will outgrow her newborn clothes soon. *sniff*1 minute APGAR score of 8, 5 minute APGAR of 9. Because she wasn't exposed to meds, latched on and ate instantly. The nurse-midwife came to check on us the next morning and said she "hadn't seen a pro like that in awhile." We had a hospital photo shoot yesterday. From what they said they took pics for free and are making a secure free page...when I get the email, will PM you the password.
Don't forget me too? And Congrats HPL!!! I noticed your short absence and just posted this yesterday.... OK, day before yesterday.... She's past her third trimester and still waiting, as far as we know. http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...99886

Those scores are good, no need to worry... Just make sure the little one is in that blanket, is eating, and pooping...Quick hint... Sleep when she sleeps and don't let your mom make you feel down...Have any questions or such, feel free to PM me.

That 9 months+1 week went by FAST! She's been trying. Hasn't been hard, what with working 40 hour weeks and doing her nursing clinicals 3 days a week on top of that. She is also planning on no painkillers heh.

It's the most amazing, beautiful thing to have your unmedicated, just-born baby immediately latch on and feed...they are FULLY alert and KNOW what to do If an out of shape older first timer can do it with no meds, ANYBODY can do it...as my doula says "our bodies were made for this". And by the way, don't watch those "Baby" birth shows on cable. They're nothing but drama and will not put you in that positive frame of mind. I did not scream, and did not feel no "ring of fire" that I kept hearing about. I was in my zone.
They are fascinated by her and worship her. They don't even flinch when she screams her head off. I couldn't have asked for an easier transition into this! (and yes, I'm still brushing dog teeth)
