Windows not working! need quick help!

Post by unfairtebo »

Alright guys I was dumb and installed new speakers in my 08 vibe. I have to make a wooden ring to mount the speakers, used a self tapping screw and ran through some wires on my drivers side door. I pulled the wires out and tapped them up and fixed the short. Now the windows still wont work but there is no longer a short. Could the bare wires shorting on each other kill the window switch? NONE of the windows work which leads me to believe its a fuse, checked them all and its not. Can anyone help me out?

Check to make sure the plug is fully inserted into the window switch. If that does not work check the wires you drilled through and make sure you didn't cut through any other wires. If the drivers side switch panel has no power none of the windows will work
Vibe is gone and will be missed as I've gone country style

don't forget to check the window fuse and the secondary fuse too. once i had my windows stop working and it was that 2nd fuse, i'm not sure which it was but it isn't one of the blade ones. i had the dealer change it cause i didn't know it existed and couldn't figure out the issue.

The power window fuse is fine. All of the fuses in the drivers side fuse box have been checked with a test light. There are 3 relays next the fuse box behind the instrument panel that I can't get to and one of them in the power window fuse. There are 2 30 amp relays and one 40 amp.
