Pebble Scratches

Post by ktyure »

Hey guys, I was wondering what do you guys do with the little scratches from pebbles that are on your car. While I was awshing my jet black 09 vibe a couple of days ago, I noticed a new tiny scratch on the hood of my car. It seems to have chipped off all of the black paint entirely. The size of the scratch is roughly 1/4 the size of a piece of rice.

Are they scratches or chips? The only thing I've been able to do is clean out the chips/scratches as much as possible (prevents rust), then fill with touch-up paint. Regular coats of wax keep the touch-up paint in decent shape over time, too. I also purchased a bug deflector for long trips to keep the road debris mishaps on my hood to a minimum.Any pics you can post? Maybe someone can be more helpful if the problem is worse than road chips. Unfortunately, the paint quality on these Vibes is not the best...

I just purchased a used 2006 black Vibe. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase. However, the hood had quite a few chips. My mechanic said that this was were stone chips and was due to the shape of the car.At any rate I am have the hood repainted so as to prevent rust.Any advice on how to keep new chips from forming is appreciated.
