2009 and its tranny time

Post by Caretaker »

2009 automatic 1.8 liter: experiencing slamming when in third gear, the rpms are lowering to around 1200, and I'm coasting at 30-35 mph. When I give it the gas (hard), the tranny hesitates for a brief moment, then slams as it shifts from 3rd to 2nd to give me extra power. I also believe the fluid is smelling a bit foul. Only 23,000 miles. I have an appointment at the dealer on Tuesday. Anybody else's '09 or '10 shifting poorly?

Yes, it was a little low. Still, I can get it to "slam" when asking for a immediate downshift to 2nd. Of course the dealer did what dealers always do: add 1/2 ounce of fluid and send you on your way.

It prob is 2 things:1. Speed you are cruising at and which is point between gears (trans and computer searches remember)2. Drive by wire - always a delay
