The PCM is covered for 8 years or 80K miles, whichever is first, and it hasn't been 8 years and you haven't gone 80K miles so that part should still be covered under warranty. Also, the 2005 Warranty, page 4 (available from
http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=1010) says " This warranty is for GM vehicles registered in theUnited States and normally operated in the UnitedStates or Canada, and is provided to the original andany subsequent owners of the vehicle during thewarranty period."so not being the original owner is not a factor. However, you probably ought to talk to a GM service advisor before you authorize them to investigate the problem, to make sure they'll try replacing the PCM under warranty at no cost to youA TSB is not a recall. Recalls pretty much gurantee they dealership will perform the service at no cost to you, TSBs are just insrtuctions to the techs on recommended ways to approach certain problems. Hopefully you will be able to get them to try the PCM replacement as a warranty issue, and then if that doesn't solve the problem, you might need to get the tranny solenoid replaced. I couldn't find the GM TSB but did find the Toyota one (attached)
