Soon, I will be sending my info to Kostby at his registered e-mail address, if the link doesn't work. I nearly forgot some of my mods over the years, but I want to get more of them done. Trying to make my "future mods" list shorter, and my actual list look more accomplished!

Sounds like you have an "understanding" & supportive wife When I break this news to my wife, she'll probably blow a gasket BUT I will make every effort to attend this meet I need a good reason for a "road trip", plus will want to show off any MODS that I get finished, and meet all you midwesterner Vibers

Just about the only thing that gets her a little miffed are my super-duper 5-6 hour detail Saturday/Sundays (however, she does like getting me out of the house on those days). I did one in early April to get the winter crud off, and I sporadically do one during the summer, with a 3rd being end of the fall to give it a chance against the winter salt/elements.So, with this meet, there will be a 4th one added!

If I do head out Friday I wouldn't get there until later on in the evening since I work until 2 and it's about a 4 hour drive. I'm still waiting to see when the rest of the Chicagoland people are wanting to head out as well. Just a thought for everyone... I used the picture that Kostby designed for the meet and linked this thread to it for my signature. Figured it might help spread the word around here a little more.

re: use of the 'Unofficial' 2010 Indy Meet artworkI have no problem with anyone using this 'unofficial' artwork. The clouds in this one remind me a little too much of The Simpsons!I snapped the image of (some of) the Indy skyline from I-70 eastbound south of town, and used the Impact font (similar to the Gen 1 and Gen 1.5 Vibe logo) for the lettering. I'm actually working on an 'official' logo for the car data sheets and nametags that will be vastly different, and not use up all my color ink cartridges printing nametags and data sheets!!! LOL

Meet Time Has Changed!

Post by jkm311 »

I didn't see any objections over the past couple days, so I have changed the meet time to 2 p.m. EASTERN TIME instead of 4. The first post now reflects this, and I have created a new thread in the North Central section to get the word out even more, with other regions to follow. Not to mention I stole J's idea for my sig, too. EDIT: I didn't include a couple regions, simply due to distance. However, everybody is welcome of course! I just didn't want to load up your boards with the drive being so long. I have also updated my post on the Facebook GenVibe page, too.

I like Michelle's idea of putting a design up on a shirt site so everyone can order what they want.I'm working on a couple of ideas, including a '3 Generations of Vibe' idea that is NOT Meet-specific.

At the tone, the time will be 5 p.m. EASTERN and here is our weekly (more like, whenever I feel like it) listing of those still interested in attending the Indy meet. Toasted7, I know the Scion Event is the same day, are you able to make ours at all?If anybody listed below is not able to make it, OR you would like to be made more than a "maybe," OR you are now able to attend and never mentioned it before, please let me know.OR, just kidding. I so wish you could add my name to the list. But since the Caretaker is everywhere, I guess it would be appropriate nonetheless. Are any of you 21st century technology folks gonna figure out a way to stream the gala event for the rest of us? Connectivity is a bit sketchy here in the Delta Quadrant, but I'll find an unused array to connect in. Have a blast and a box of wine on me!

With a lot of folks wanting to wander around and do their own thing, I'm not sure where we would set up a camera to stream (depending on whether someone techie was able to set that up). At the very least, I think a handful of video might be shot, in addition to photos that we can post with links in a thread afterward for everyone to jump in and watch/scroll through. The streaming idea sounds fun, but maybe a Twitter or Facebook page devoted to the meet where we can post real time photos/comments might be cool.EDIT: Wow, folks! 12 pages with 276 posts and over 4,600 views. Nice to have something coming together that so many people are interested in on this site.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it to any of the meet. Scion Exposed is an all day event, starts at 8am and runs the whole day and even has a big after-party and camping that night. We are probably heading into Indy on Friday evening sometime, not sure of the hotel yet, and getting everything ready to go for Saturday. If anything is going on Friday evening (Pre-meet) with anyone getting there early, maybe we can meet up and hang out for a bit... as long as you don't mind a few Scikotics.

Hotel

Post by jkm311 »

I'm about 90% sure I will not be staying at a hotel. However, people have been wondering about them, so I checked out some reviews on Castleton locations (barely even 1 mile south from Sahms Park). A lot of the hotels I seem to be finding are nice and new looking:Drury Inns & Suites seems to be the most value for the dollar ($109/night). And it looks practically brand new and very nice:Drury Inn & Suites Northeast 8180 North Shadeland Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46250-2045(317) 849-8900https://wwws.druryhotels.com/P...=0145Not sure what most of our out-of-towners were considering for a hotel, but it seems like nothing is locked in just yet. Hope this helps. And there are a BUNCH of hotels in the same area I looked. If you look up the park on Google, then search within those results for hotels, you'll see a dozen pop up less than a mile south from the park. Plus, Castleton has a great shopping area, things to do, etc.

I've heard good things about Drury from my Indiana-based friends, but I don't really care where we stay as long as I don't get mugged on a street corner. I'll be booking a hotel wherever people decide to... maybe with the Chicagolanders.

Getting excited!

Nice! Between you, JtoE and I, the word will sufficiently get around! Even after I commented on 4,600 views on Monday, we've had over 500 more views since then!
