aFe pro dry drop in filter for 09?

Post by BlueVibe09 »

Hi guys, I'm looking at this filter for my '09 with the 1.8l but it's not listed for the matrix or the Vibe... It is listed for the '09 Corolla which has the same engine right? What are the chances that it would fit the '09 Vibe? Thanks. http://www.autoanything.com/ai....aspx

I can't help you with whether it will fit or not, but aFe does make a great drop in filter. I have one in my mom's '09 GT because she didn't want the K&N intake. It's a very nice, high quality filter . If it will indeed work for your 1.8L, you won't be disappointed with it.

i've been wondering about getting one of these (the K&N products do not appeal to me-want to keep it "stock" and don't want to oil my filters.) other than the long life of the filter, has anyone who has one seen gains in HP or MPG?an extra MPG or better throttle response would be worth a little extra cash upfront (i'm not due for a replacement until late summer).if you get one BlueVibe, let us know if it fits (i'm assuming if it fits your '09, it will fit my '10)

I just looked on the aFe site and this is the filter that came up for the vibe and Matrix. I'll be ordering one soon hopefully. I'm sure I can find it cheaper somewhere else. You have to select pro dry S in "type" if you follow the link. http://afepower.com/shop/detai...ID=59a little cheaper: http://www.autoanything.com/ai....aspx

Not worth the risk in my opinion. I do have the K&N Typhoon intake on my '09 GT though but it has an AEM Dry Flow filter on it .As I said in my previous post, I bought an aFe Pro Dry S drop in filter for my mom's '09 GT since she didn't like the sound of the K&N Typhoon intake. In my opinion, it really hasn't had any major effects on the gas mileage or power, but it certainly hasn't hurt anything and the fact that it's totally washable and re-usable is pretty much why I got it. Not so much for power. As I said before, I am happy with it. It's a great filter for sure .The '09s & '10s are, for all intensive purposes, identical. If you have the 1.8L, get #30-10151. If you have the 2.4L, get #31-10151.Quote, originally posted by BlueVibe09 »I just looked on the aFe site and this is the filter that came up for the vibe and Matrix. I know the part number for the 2.4L is #31-10151 so it makes sense the 1.8L is #30-10151. And yes, definitely be sure to choose "Pro Dry S" from the drop down menu.

Don't wanna worry about messing up my MAF or having to clean it. Like you stated it's not going to hurt power or mileage so why not give it a try? I just ordered mine today so I'll give you guys a review when i get it... Of course like everything else with this car I've ordered it won't be getting shipped for like a week!

Got the filter and have ran 2 tanks of gas since. The filter fits perfect and takes 15 seconds to replace. I'd say that the engine seems to breath easier and I defenitely notice a slight pick-up from the stock filter when passing on a two way road. I'd say that the mileage hasn't changed at all I'm still averaging about 33 mpg.
