Home Alarm (New Owners)

Post by Whelan »

So my question is this. If the people who lived in the house prior had one alarm company and we wanted to switch. And the house they are going to does not have an alarm. Do they have to pay a cancellation fee or is there some clause in the contracts about moving out and such. Being new owners we should not be liable for anything or continuing charges. The previous owners (brother in law) is calling them but I wanted to know from anyone who has dealt with alarms before.

This is correct. There is no obligation to a contract that a previous owner signed. If you are considering another company, the currently installed equipment may not be compatible with the new companyies equipment. However, you may use this to try to leverage the security provider into a lower monthly rate.

What he said^^^Its kinda like my direcTV, when I move the equipment stays and the contract follows. Alot of companies use that as a mind set to bring in new customers, the equipment is there already so I might as well use it is what alot of customers think in cases like that.
Vibe is gone and will be missed as I've gone country style
