Earlier today my dad and I drove down to JC Whitney in LaSalle, Illinois to check out their annual car show. We ended up getting to park in the grassy area on the backside of the warehouse. We came around the corner and saw a bunch of big trucks and SUVs backed up on this huge grassy incline. I decided to have a little fun with the Vibe and show these big truck and SUV owners that they're not the only ones who could park there .The front bumper was layed out flat on the ground. My dad couldn't stop laughing. He said it looked like it had air ride . I of course had to take pictures! Please ignore the disgustingly dirty Vibe. The last two weekends I have had to drive through friends' wet, muddy gravel driveways so the wheel wells are full of mud, gravel, dirt, etc. and after the cross country drive to JC Whitney, the front end was covered in bugs. New pictures will be up as soon as I get it clayed and waxed.

Carrie, show this to you dad as it was long before you were born Enjoy catalog front cover
I remember back in 97 I made a cold air system for my buick regal.I bought some 3" rubberized dryer hoses from them to run under the bumper into a dual snorker air filter housing that I bought a a swap meet. Best mod I did to that car!!! That and advanced the timing....old school...without a computer LOL. They always had the cheapest prices, but you get what you pay for.

I bet you had a fun time getting out...I went to volunteer last week, the place was WAY out in the woods (a mile of dirt road into the woods), there was this big group of people and they told everyone to pile into the trucks because of some deeper mud pits and the cars wouldn't make it... they looked at my Vibe and said that it wouldn't make it... I wanted to prove them wrong, but once I saw how deep the mud was, I was very happy the Vibe didn't make the cut.lol, so more power to you with being able to stick with the big trucks.

That's hysterical Jerry ! I had no idea they were ever anywhere other than their current location. Next year we need to have a Vibe get together at the JC Whitney show so we can represent!Quote, originally posted by tpollauf »OK... now I'm getting a bit nostalgic BUT I still have some of their old catalogs in my basement (see attachments) and like you Jerome, spent WAY TOO MUCH $$$$$$ with those guys BUT at the time they were one of the best suppliers in the country for modding your ride. I have bought a few things from their outlet store over the years. They do sell some stuff that is name brand, but they also sell a lot of random junk.Quote, originally posted by VforVIBE »I bet you had a fun time getting out...I went to volunteer last week, the place was WAY out in the woods (a mile of dirt road into the woods), there was this big group of people and they told everyone to pile into the trucks because of some deeper mud pits and the cars wouldn't make it... they looked at my Vibe and said that it wouldn't make it... Actually, I had no problem getting out. After I took the pictures I pulled it ahead a little bit so that when we went to leave I wouldn't wreck the front bumper with the extra weight of my dad in the passenger seat. When the guy saw me back the Vibe up there he went and backed his H3 up there too . Guess he didn't like being shown up by a Vibe!Quote, originally posted by glennpert »Nice! ever take any reflectors off the road? lol.LOLNo, thank goodness .

It looks nice, but no matter what the ride sucks. I love the ride of the Vibe. It's a bit stiff, but I don't have to cringe everytime I see a bump in the road or something (although I drive the Vibe like it's lowered because it's so engrained in me).
