My wife thinks I'm a geek...

Post by furrydogs »

We took a trip from Colorado to Upper Michigan and to relieve the boredom I suggested we try and find every color Vibe. She wasn't terribly interested but I managed to come across every color except Envy and the new Orange color. I was having rotten luck until I got to Michigan where there seemed to be an endless supply of Vibes on the road.Attached is a picture of the Vibe with an Iowa cornfield in the background from our trip.

They are EVERYWHERE now. Even the Envy and those Orange ones. Of course you can spot just about anything with manufacturers plates before general public release on MetroDetroit freeways. If there is only one thing that's nice about our roads, it's that every day is another opportunity to spot something new and different.

A friend just got back from his trip to south Ontario, Detroit and area last month and he told me that there were more Vibes in Michigan than there are in Canada alone.( He's a Acura guy ) Seems to be that Vibe is particularly popular in Michigan ( especially evident in the Michigan rally ) , there aren't that many California Vibes here while California people usually dominate most car forumsIs there a particular reason to that ? California peeps only like Hondas ? hehe

Check out the photo he posted again. Look at the dirt marks on the lower cladding. It clearly shows how the leading edge of the rear wheel arch gets blasted. No wonder why it's getting damaged there.

I just got back from Michigan as well, and i saw, as you said, more vibes that i thought humanly possible. I staying just north of Flint, and i also traveled into the UP of Michigan. I havent seen a single Vibe GT here in Raleigh, yet the day i get to my uncles house i see 3 of them. Also you hardly see Azteks around here, but they were everywhere where i stayed

I never saw any Azteks until the Vibe hit the market...seems as if the Vibe spurred the Aztek market too...go figure...

I don't see too many Vibes, even though I work 4 miles from NUMMI.Notable exception: there are two other Vibes besides mine in the parking lot of my apartment complex: a 2003 base Frosty (2 tone) and a 2003 monotone neptune GT. 3 Vibes in one fairly small complex is definitely skewing some statistic!Anyway, I'm seeing more and more as time goes on, but it's slow. I think Matrix's (Matrices?) are more popular here than Vibes.

Most certainly was not the case in MI though. Those ugly Azteks have been everywhere since they came out too. Not too long ago, we saw an Aztek with the liscense plate: UGLYCAR or something similar to that. We figured it was a GM employee who made his wife get one because it was cheap and they got a good deal, and all she could do to protest was put that plate on it

I agree. I can't believe how many Azteks I saw in Michigan. I don't know if that is good or bad.

Considering the super-low sales volume, there are a fair of Azteks here...

(Hillsborough, NJ). Though i've seen at least 10 Azteks.I have to admit, I loved the concept Aztek..which then got destroyed in production...only to resurface as the Vibe (hence why I bought it!)
