New to the site. Wanting info.

Post by dguill485 »

Ok, so I came across this site about 3 days ago and I just bought my '05 Vibe, AWD, A/T in January. Ive been though tons of posts to this site, reading and learning. Took me long enough to figure out what 1ZZ and 2ZZ was. 1ZZ = VVT-i motor.... right? (but whats the VVT-i mean?)Thats what I have anyway. But Im looking for more information about what I can do for better performance with my vibe, along with better Fuel Economy. From what Ive read on many sites, Adding performance parts and driving the speed limit on highways will get better MPG right?Either way what can I get in means of parts?Should I get FI or stick with NA?How much more horsepower and MPG will I get from the parts?Prices and maybe some sites for the parts?Turbo or supercharger? What do you do to tune your car after mods?Is tuning required after new mods?I apologize if I'm asking a lot up front but I'm trying to find answers. I will admit that I want the performance for my own enjoyment sometimes and go to the track with a few friends but mostly I want the fuel economyIm curious about the fuel economy part because i had known someone who got 40MPG in a chevorlet cavalier on good days and 28MPG on bad days fighting the wind (or so he claims... I never had proof of it) he said he had a turbocharger and several other mods

welcome to genvibeQuote, originally posted by dguill485 » (but whats the VVT-i mean?)Variable Valve Timing with intelligenceI don't know what to offer on performance upgrades for AWD vibes. The AWD will cost you some HP and MPGs. Only advice I can really offer is to change the fluids in the transfer case and rear differential, some haven't and run into expensive repairs
