Ever break your driver door lock?

Post by jkm311 »

I think I may have. I was attempting to manually unlock my driver door, and when I tried to pull the latch toward me, I heard a muffled "THUMP" from inside the door, and now the lock flicks back and forth freely. My question is, did I snap something? I didn't hear any plastic piece fall down inside the door, indicating I broke anything. I'm taking the panel off this weekend to check. I'm hoping it's something that slipped out of place. The power lock still works perfectly on the door. I rarely use the manual latch, so this is more peace-of-mind for me...

Sounds like one of the rods popped out.But as one of the few without power locks, I've had no problems.

nevr happened to me. On my ppassenger door which I rarely unlock with my key, I can't unlock it with my key. But the copy I made a while back works for it. I'm guessing the lock hasn't worn out with my key.

Sorry, folks. I mis-lead you. It's the INSIDE manual lock latch that does not work. Outside is fine, and using the power locks from the inside still engages the door to be locked. Bumming me out, too. I have GrafxWerks white stickers that I put in place of the factory red. Looks like if I can't fix the latch, I might have to order a new one, and go back to the red stickers. Bummer...
