port and polish

Post by dmitri »

I've done it myself on my camaro and someone elses car. It came out real well. I'm planning on doing it on my vibe gt. Is there any special coating on the heads (like on the block because you cant bore it)? Is there anything special to watch out for on our heads? Thanks.

im sure they dont perfect it at the factory, its just cast and thats it. But are there any coating on it, or anything different then a chevy head because of lift and stuff? Im planning on using a dremel tool to grind it down a little bit, then polish it with fine grit on the dremel. maybe ill polish the intake manifold runners too.

i believe i read somewhere about laser inlaid valve seats rather than pressed in. whether or not it affects a port and polish i wouldnt know. if it was me i wouldnt touch anything on the 2zz. i'd might give it a go on the 1zz though
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!

No part that is cast can be perfect, I'm sure there spots that could use some touching up, perhaps some port matching, but you don't want to go hogging out anything, as the 2ZZ is designed to breathe well from the factory.
