My FIRST post whooo hooooo Anyone know what type trailer hitch I need????

First off thanks for such a great site. I love my Vibe and can't wait to look at all the site. I was wondering if anyone has an idea as to what hitch to buy for my Vibe and if it can hanle the load. I have an 04 and am planning on hauling my Raptor 660 to the ride spots which are around 20 miles from here. I can't afford to buy another vehicle such as a truck to haul her in so I was just thinking about getting a small flat utility trailer from Home Depot and hauling it on that. Will this work or am i asking for more than my car is designed for?THANKS!!!!!!!!

There are a couple different brands that make a hitch for the Vibe, all of which are perfectly fine. I have always preferred the hidden hitch brand myself. The Vibe has a towing capacity of 1500 pounds. That is including the trailer. Oh and by the way welcome to the site and enjoy your Vibe.

i have the stock hitch for mine and have had no trouble with the bigger loads. i have seen some aftermarket hitches with less atachment points tear the body. so when you get a hitch make sure there is 6 bolt holes to attach it just so you don't damage your ride.this is a picture of mine with close to the heaviest thing i have pulled

What exactly do you mean by stock hitch? Did you purchase it from the dealer? What model and brand is it? Can you post a couple close up pictures of the actual hitch and attachment? I like the U-haul hitch but want a hitch that uses 6 bolts rather than four. Thanks.
