Just for a dumb post today. Microsoft Word is aggravating me. I would have thought that even in the world of Vista (which I hate using at work) the word comes up with the usual red squiggle underneath. And the brilliant suggestion by the Spelling & Grammar...Overnighter! *Price is Right FAIL Horn* Buh, Buh, Buh-Buh, Brrrrooowwww! So close. Just to confirm with everyone here. Overnighted IS a WORD. Thanks.
it might be a word but its a case of very poor grammar.as in "I overnighted it" would be better said "I sent it overnight" say the first phrase with a hillbilly accent and you will see what I mean. lol

Then again, that gets into the whole discussion of whether something changing in the popular lexicon means that it's actually "right".As to the original post... it's called "Add words to dictionary" when spellchecking, lol.

As society changes and how they use words changes or develops "those" in "charge" (whomever they may be and how they got to be eludes me) add and drop words to the dictionaries. There is an amazing list of words that have changed meanings over the years or have been developed.A simple word to bring up would be "Gay". Used to mean happy and carefree, still does but also has the more popular meaning were all know today. Today, you would never say someone is gay, meaning happy. Though My mother (91) still uses it in the old way.Look at text, used to mean the written word, today it is virtual keyboard action sending wireless message.Dave
