Need an opinion, my Infiniti forum isnt much help...

Post by breezd »

Hey everyone,It's been a while since I've been on here since I traded in the GT back in July for my Infiniti FX35. Well I want to get new brakes all around on the truck and asked for people's opinion on the forum I go on, and they were no help compared to everyone on here that I have received in the past. All they say is "do a search", which I did do and couldn't find any information on exactly what I was looking for....I am planning on replacing pads & rotors soon. I am going to buy OEM pads (know someone at a Nissan dealer) but trying to find some decent inexpensive rotors. I came across these rotors on Ebay. They are inexpensive, seller has good feedback, and come with a 1yr warranty against warping and life warranty against cracking.Has anyone dealt with these people? What do you think about these... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT My FX is unmodded and I would like to start small, and have always liked the look of D/S rotors. Are there any other inexpensive options out there for D/S rotors?

The fact that they ends of the slots taper off instead of just coming to a stop is def a plus. Never dealt with that dealer before, but with the warranty, appearance of good quality, and affordable pricing, looks like a good deal.

My only warning would be asking where they are made. Not to be negative but I do a lot of work on various vehicles. The Chinese brake rotors only last a fraction of the time a good ole fashioned domestic or OEM product does before it warps and gives you pedal shudder.Dave

And there is also a warranty against warping for 1 year.Quote, originally posted by Wolfman213 »The fact that they ends of the slots taper off instead of just coming to a stop is def a plus. i cant recommend drilled and slotted rotors. especially from ebay. They are cheap, the drilled is a horrible idea for street use and they dont help for street. What are you looking for in a rotor for you suv? You are running oem pads, so why not run a plain rotor? Or you could try a stoptech rotor w/ slots

Also going to paint the calipers to give that extra sporty-ness.

Not to discourage you, but the drilled and slotted rotors are much more prone to warping. The thickest rotors are the best, especially for heavier vehicles. The ad stated "machined in the USA", it is a good guess they were cast at the cheapest offshore supplier. Google Chinese wallboard, for starters. Painting the calipers will spruce things up, maybe some others cosmetic mods can give you more satisfaction.

The problem is, you want inexpensive...so "sporty" rotors that work..well arent. Id say look into stoptech slotted or go get the standard oem ones, like raybestos brand.
