Custom seat cover - no dorks please ;)

Post by MotoXdog »

Has anyone had any luck finding seat covers for both the front AND the back? Looks like the only ones for the rear come in a standard "bench seat" style, not allowing you to split the rear seat backs if you had to. Also, what type of seat cover material holds up best... anyone? Thanks!

Wet Okole FTW! They have split back covers, check the link...Matrix covers fit the Vibe... look at the bottom of the page.http://www.wetokole.com/mm5/me...&char=I have the front covers and like 'em. They are neoprene, pretty sturdy, waterproof, etc. Adds a little extra padding to the seat which is nice too. Here's mine...

...unfortunately (or not?) the 2009-2010 Vibes have front-seat arm/shoulder AIR BAGS mounted in the upper/outside of each front seat...and they should NOT be covered, or the SRS system won't work 100%.

I got my set off ebay They are exact fit and the back seats are still functional. Here is the link to the ebay storehttp://stores.shop.ebay.ca/Exa...rsZ1 I don't recommend the ones they are selling now though, the quality has dropped and it doesn't even have the pattern stiched in anymore. But if you email them (even attach a picture of mine) they have another site which you can order the ones like mine, but they are a little more, but definately cheaper than wet oakle The fit is very good, normally there is no wrinkles but last time i put them in I rushed. I usually take them off once a year and throw it in the washing machine. No one who has gotten in my car knew until I told them that they were covers.

I know this is an old thread... but I was pricing out these covers and I found where you can get the Vibe Logo (or Pontiac, or a zillion other graphics) stitched on here:http://www.wetokole.com/GRAPHICS.html

I got some samples from Wet Okole a couple of months ago. Materials are top rate. The Vibe embroidery, they do. Fit is exceptional, as seen in Blanco Diablo's car. I've never seen a better seat cover.

Sorry, forgot about this thread... the "vibe" logo is actually flock, not embroidery... it's a die-cut heat transfer process with almost a suede-like feel. You see the stuff on Abercrombie t-shirts a lot. Low profile and soft is the best way I can describe it.And yes, I got it through Wet Okole when I ordered the covers...it is in the graphics section, had to pay a 'lil extra for it though.

But those are not known to be all that comfortable either, just supportive.

OK, red and black covers with vibe logo all ordered! I'll post pics when they do come in and I get them installed, of course. Also ordered the Philips X-Treme Power headlights... so then all that will be left for me is the tinting... need to stop spending money! Lol

The covers should look sweet in your car. Don't stop spending money, ponta, the economy needs you!!!! Don't forget to post pictures when you get them. Eventually I'll have to order a set before kayak duty gets transferred from my slowly dying old Saturn wagon over to the Vibe. They will save the seats from damp clothing.

Oh don't worry, I think I will personally save the economy. In the last year, we bought a house (painting and remodeling including new wood floors and custom closets) furniture (refrigerator, couch, washer/dryer), a new car (and now all it's accessories), a whole lot of professional video and audio equipment for the hubby... hmm are there any areas of the economy that I haven't stimulated yet? Just let me know! I should get some sort of presidential award or something.

"Do we NEED that? Why would you do that to the car?? Does the car NEED new wheels? What's wrong w/the old ones? What's wrong with the way it was??? Why does it NEED new headlights?"I hear it all the time...... She just doesn't get it and never will. But, I would be hard pressed too to spend nearly $500 on seat covers. No offense intended to anyone here, I just think they charge too much for them.

Your're right 06pvibe, that is a lot of money. On the other hand, Okoles are excellently made, they really fit, and with proper care, will probably last the life of the car. They are also cheaper than reupholstering, if you happen to ruin your original seat material.I really like the fact that you can take them off and clean them, too.

No offense intended to anyone here, I just think they charge too much for them.Well, it's closer to $400 if you only get the front seats. What really sold me on them, besides how awesome looking and durable they are, is that I could order the extra lumbar support. I have horrible back and shoulder problems (gee, I wonder why, must be the whole day at the computer thing) so something like that will make longer trips significantly more bearable. Also love that they have the support for the seat side airbags.Plus, Dude, Red!!! Vibe Logo!!! Awesome!!!! *is distracted by shiny red things* PS I place the blame on this forum's enthusiasm, coupled with my husband's love of car care and my obsessive nature, for my desire to do all this!

I wish I had never come across this thread! I had to order a pair for my Santa Fe (I even splurged for the seat heaters). I'll see how I like them before ordering some for the Vibe. My wife drives it more than I do and I know she likes warm seats, so if the heaters work well I'll probably get another pair sometime before next winter.

I wasn't sure about the fit near the bottom of the backs of the seats, on the side... didn't look as clean as I expected. But apparently they made them fit looser on the cars that have the side airbags in the '09 and later models... here's a pic on their site of the same car (Matrix) with a fit similar to mine. http://www.wetokole.com/Z-0840-12-50-020210.html And here is a pic without the side airbags on an '09+ http://www.wetokole.com/Z-0591-12-11.html
