I have an 09 with the Monsoon system and it sounds pretty good, but I think it could sound even better. Some things I have noticed though is that 1) the tweeters seem to be rather weak.2) the speakers sound good, but kind of flat and blah.3) the sub lacks any real punch. Now I'm not an expert in the audio department so I don't really know what I should be expecting, but I was expecting more for a 320w system. I am interested in replacing the factory speakers, and possibly the tweeters and sub. What is the stock speaker size? I want something that can drop right in without severe modification. According to Crutchfield, I can use either 5 1/4 or 6 1/2- I'd probably go with 6 1/2. They say all I have to do is drill out the rivets holding the factory speakers in and use the adapters that they supposedly give you with the order. Anyone have experience replacing speakers on an 09/10? I have 3 choices right now:1) Polk db6512)Infinity 6032cf3) JBL GTO628Anyone have any thoughts? I just might consider replacing the tweeters and sub down the road, but not right now. I want to use the factory HU and amp (wherever that is). Can I get a decent upgrade in sound with this setup? Let's say I do replace the tweeters and sub, any suggestions for that? I appreciate all the help I can get.

Personally I would go with the Polks. I did my research for a while & they are the best bang for the buck speaker. When I catch up with more important things I will treat the Vibe to a pair of DBs. Im in the same boat as you...Im planning to keep the factory HU as well. The Polks have a high sensitivity rating (92)that will go well with the factory HU. Hope that helps a bit.

I don't have M&T but I put 6 1/2" speakers in the doors of my '09 and had to make a mounting ring to fill the gap in the stock mounting hole. It looked as though 6 3/4" would have fit perfectly. I think they are a recomendation from Crutchfield as well? Might be something to check into. Also mounting depth was not a problem as the window doesn't make it down to the speaker when rolled down. I also stayed with the OE HU.

I dont know about the 09s, but crutchfeild recomends the DB651-S ( S for shallow ) for the front speakers because of the window clearance. Otherwise you would have to do what BlueVibe did.BlueVibe how do those Sonys sound without your sub?

The Sony's are definitely a marked improvement over the OE speakers. And the price is VERY resonable. Cleaned up the muddy bass and mids from factory speakers and the highs aren't tinny or brittle. They would benefit from an after market HU I'm sure. I love Polks but didn't feel like spending the money on them for use with the factory HU. I don't think there is a window clearance issue for the 09/10 vibes. It didn't look to me like the window traveled down far enough to interfere. I only had to make rings because the mounting holes were too big around for the new speakers.

I have the Polk DB-6501's from crutchfield. They are the non-shallow ones and they fit just fine in a 2009 Vibe.I keep thinking that i somehow have the wrong part number but I just checked and DB6501 and DB651 are infact completely differnet speakers.Anyhow here is the link for the ones I have. They are twice the price but I can assure you they sound phenomenal. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1...p=106

Seeing there is talk about our sound systems, my 08 w/monsoon sys, i get the feeling that I am missing something. On cd tracks I know where a guitar solo should be, it appears to be inthe background not very loud, like a track drops out. I almost want to say it is out of phase. But dealer "reassures" me that the connectors are right. Thoughts?
