Where do they mount the factory XM Receiver?

Post by Dave Anderson »

Hi - I couldn't find an answer to this in the other posts - thanks in advance if anyone knows the answer ...Does anyone know where the factory installed XM Receiver boxes are on the '05 Vibes?I have an '05 Vibe GT with the factory Moon & Tunes package and XM. I'm installing a Neo ProLink iPod adapter kit. To work properly I need to access the XM Receiver box (this adapter requires that I either disconnect or splice a wire on the XM Receiver). According to Neo Audio support there should be an external XM Receiver separate from the head unit of the stereo. I've tried tracing the wires (from both the head unit end and the XM antenna end) but haven't been able to locate the XM Receiver. Thanks,Dave

Found it! It's directly behind the subwoofer. To access it I had to take out the upper and lower rear right interior panels, remove the subwoofer behind the lower rear right panel, and the XM Receiver is held in by 3 bolts directly behind where the subwoofer mounts to.
