CEL came on for the first time ever

Post by kaykin75 »

Hi! I have a 2003 Pontiac Vibe, 95000 miles. Never had a problem with this car....I love it!! Today my CEL came on. I had a new battery installed a week ago and the manual mentions something about this. Gas cap is on tight, I took it off and put it back on to check. I was on a 3 hour trip and everything was fine until I hit the freeway and accelerated to 70mph (about 2 minutes after this is when the CEL came on). Any ideas??? I am very mechanically "retarded" and am sooo worried that I will need a new engine!! Thanks!

auto part stores like, napa, autozone, checker will let you use their odb2 scanner to pull the cel if you drive the car there. do that and post the cel code number.

Huh, I never knew that--good to know (hopefully I won't ever see it happen)! Thanks.
