dash mat

Post by scherry2 »

I remember seeing fur on the dashes back in the 60/70's http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 2424406160

It's velour. How scary. I think the only thing that would be scarier is if he was offerning a velour mat to cover the surface area of this setup: http://www.pbase.com/image/19302370 (huy397, I stole the pic from your post - thanks )Anyway. it seems like it would be hard to keep clean. But I guess you could just keep a lint brush handy. I wonder if he throws in a pair of matching fuzzy dice to go with it.

I just bought one from http://www.dashtopper.com. Dark grey velour, attaches with velcro. Custom fit, and looks good. Now I can throw things on the dash without them sliding around or scratching the cheap plastic dash. Also, prevents the inside of the window from "hazing" as the plastic dash gives off fumes in the heat.I'll post a pic when the sun comes up.

So, does this mat cover the passenger airbag? Is there a tearseam over the bag? What would happen if you got in a frontal collision with this mat on your dash?

Don't know why anyone would want that. I, and others got burned by the cargo mats on ebay...cheap piece of s@*t. The description says for cars without the headlight sensor on the dash....Don't they all have headlight sensors???? Waste of money if you ask me..
