Water pump

Post by rated_w »

Went for an oil change, got the oil change taken care of and looked around the engine to only realise that I was leaking coolant and that coolant was all over the fan belt and under neath the water pump. I've been noticing I was loosing coolant for A few months now. Costtofix. 600 dollars. Life is getting really expensive. LolI'm at 114597 kms. 2004 vibe

I have noticed coolant in the same area on my Vibe, been driving like that for months. I topped it off to keep a eye on the level & I have no coolant loss. I didnt think it was such a expensive repair. I plan to do it myself though. Im about to hit 90K and I just replaced the starter 3 weeks ago. No worries though....as long as there is no major engine / tranny problems. I can live with that. As long as she starts in the morning & the ac works LOL.

the labor I bet was most of that $600. I bet the water pump is under $100 for the part.

I am having the same problem. Just got mine checked out and its gonna cost me around $335.00 to get mine fixed. Hopefully that's ALL I need for right now! The part is around $97, labor around $190 (OUCH!!!). Said it would take around 3 hours to do.
